	Introduction	Aim of the Master's program


	The four partner institutions of the Swiss Conservation Restoration Campus are offering a coordinated Master’s program. This is a specialisation course which gives Bachelor graduates in conservation the professional training required for independent professional practice in conservation-restoration. The Master’s program in conservation-restoration corresponds to 120 ECTS credits. It requires full-time commitment for two years or a longer period for students attending the program part-time. At the end of the course the degree awarded is a “Master of Arts UAS in Conservation-Restoration". The title is recognized by the Confederation and it is valid internationally. The first Master's course has started in autumn 2008.	Conservator-restorers are professionals specialized in one or more specific domains of conservation-restoration. The aim of the Master’s program is to develop the knowledge acquired in the Bachelor’s program through specialized courses at scientific and academic level and to integrate applied research into conservation-restoration practice. The Master’s program prepares students for independent work on conservation-restoration projects and/or for access to a PhD-program. The profession

		With reference to the relevant professional associations at the European level a graduate at Master's level will be qualified: to register for PhD-programs in conservation-restoration; to work as a conservator-restorer of cultural heritage, in the public or private sectors, fully responsible for the managing and execution of the projects.
