Conservation is about understanding and preserving our shared history. On our Bachelor’s programs, you will learn to preserve art and cultural heritage — from paintings, sculptures, and graphics to contemporary art and time-based media, decorated architectural surfaces, archaeological findings, scientific objects, and textiles.

During the Master’s program in conservation-restoration you will learn to plan and realise direct and indirect treatment on different kinds of objects. You will benefit from extensive hands-on experience in our specialized workshops and ateliers.

MA Theses | Projects of the students

The students in Conservation-Restoration complete their MA program with a thesis. The Master theses of all Swiss CRC students are published in a brochure at the end of each year.

Swiss CRC Master Award 2025 Winner

The Swiss CRC rewards  an Master thesis each year. For 2024, the price was presented to Lukas Schaad, graduated from Hochschule der Künste Bern, for his thesis titled:

SUPSI Teaching Awards 2025:
Recognition for Sustainability in Conservation-Restoration

At the 2025 SUPSI Teaching Day, the module Sustainability in the Conservation-Restoration Practice won second prize (ex aequo) for Teaching Innovation. Developed a group of Swiss Conservation-Restoration Campus teachers, the course was recognized for its forward-thinking approach to integrating sustainability into education. The awards celebrate SUPSI’s commitment to innovative, student-centered teaching.

20th Years of the Swiss CRC 

 

In 2025, the Swiss Conservation-Restoration Campus proudly celebrates its 20th anniversary. Founded in 2005, the Campus has marked this milestone with a series of special activities highlighting two decades of innovation, collaboration, and commitment to excellence in conservation-restoration. The celebrations began with the launch of a refreshed visual identity, including a new logo and modernized design, symbolizing the Campus’s forward‑looking vision for the years ahead.
